I hate him but it’s funny. I was shocked.
I watched the king of Staten Island and it was awful, isn’t this just a show with the same premise

People who listen to Taylor’s versions make me uncomfortable
It’s the same album except now she’s getting paid to re-record mid

it's way worse almost every time
I just take the demo/vault tracks
I want to hear 1989 Carti’s Version

Eh
It works for stuff like Fearless, just bc her voice is way stronger now

It can turn a song like Fifteen from almost condescending, to genuinely reflective in a way
Like dude Taylor you were 18 when you recorded fifteen

She’s the same age as me, I’m sick

I've always thought trying to recreate a moment in time is forced but there have been some lovely surprises across the albums

I didn’t take you for a Taylor fan

I'm not really a fan per say I just like Speak Now-1989 and a few cuts here and there off the later albums

Yeah it really operates on a song by song basis tbh, tho I can comfortably say that Fearless (TV) >> The OG to me.
Cannot say the dame for Red, but that’s just bc recreating those vsts for the songs with the electronic production almost never sounds 1:1 with the original

lack of max martin on the re-recordings doesn't help either feels like a lot of the production just isn't there
most of the recording quality on fearless was way better, cleaner drums, better vocal mixing, way more guitars

Yeah I feel like it’s way easier for her first 3, just based on them not being so a***og and not having half the instrumentation be made on DAWS.
The one I’m most morbidly curious about is what a rerecorded self titled is gonna sound like, but Speak Now is the one I was genuinely most excited for, so this is great news
