When he started writing for The Green Album in 2001, there was a point in time where he would just be inside his house for days on end with the windows spray painted black, trying to write the most digestible and easy to listen to pop songs of his entire career

It really did a number on him, he had this almost spiteful attitude bc of it. Theres a performance in 2001 where he says “We’re gonna play a new song” and then they proceed to play El Scorcho, bc he had just assumed nobody had heard it

He eventually came around in 2008, saying that he loved it and was an essential part of his journey as both an artist, and as a human being.

To the point that in 2010, Weezer went on a 2 night tour across the states where they’d play Blue and Pinkerton in their entirety on each respective night, complete with b sides for each album. A tour truly for the hardcore fans
