But realistically the goal should be to get exactly that number still

If both players play like that then you will ve closer to winning then if you play unpredictable

Yeah but you said the goal was 8, so if your partner gets 7, you need to get that 1. There is also an element of throwing hands you could otherwise win to this. Like not playing your Ace of hearts into a King if you already met your bid

reminder: the minimum bid per hand is 4.. you can't bid 1 and then your partner bid 2.. the total has to be 4
