This is my favourite recording of my favorite piano concerto. Many versions have a more slow romp after major climax in the second half of the first movement. This performance has that part a lil faster which I think is super fitting... I will admit that I felt somewhat vindicated when I heard Rachmaninov's own recording of it play that part with a tempo closer to this than other version I've heard

lemme listen not familiar with this recording off the top of my head
rach's own recording of his 3rd concerto is sublime if you've never listened to it, the cadenza's are just furiously played and it was all recorded while he was in his late 50s and "past his prime"
