i invested in individual stocks years ago and i did well. i spread it out across like 20 stocks to keep it diversified. made good money on netflix, weight watchers and some others.
but then i sold everything and now i just put it in VOO (s&p 500 index). this is easier for a hands off approach. it just puts you in the 500 biggest companies
