A lot of OGs turned their backs on the newer artists after a period of time and he recognizes that. It’s a win win for both. They get his clout and he gets theirs with the younger crowd. That’s part of the reason the dorky Opium stans spare Drake and Ye from the “oh they OLD and CORNY” conversation.

Some of the GOATS aren’t innovators. Sure Kanye and Kendrick have changed their sound and direction constantly, but some like Nas and Lil Wayne perfected their sound and focused more on finding new flows and delivery.
There’s value in both to be had as long as you’re bringing something to the table.
