alot of the Beatles songs youve heard on the radio weren't on an album. even Hey Jude as late as 1968 but especially all the early hits.
Peculiar behavior from these boomer bands
Me looking at some of The Beatles singles and wondering how tf they never appeared on any albums

Ok I'll check out the singles that are on streaming too then
This album was mid though im still gonna listen to the albums
there are a few good songs on the first 2 albums but then the albums get overall good after that

That’s just the way it was back then. The Beatles in particular believed you should get your moneys worth buying albums and singles. You’d pay for an album and get all new songs versus paying for an album with singles you already paid for.
Seems silly now but that was the norm back then.

yeah I just dont remember questioning it when I dove in to the dust. just was how it was.

I mean it's weird when you compare it to artists now
They'd want their best stuff on the album

its just about money. the labels will always do what makes them most money and at the time apparently that strategy did

I told you The Album As An Art form wasnt a thing quite yet. Beatles made that a thing with Sgt Pepper and by Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd era almost nobody had non album singles anymore.

That’s funny you should say this because I distinctly remember when I was a kid being disappointed that a played out single was on an album I bought

I just think it’s insane they gave away Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane as a single when those songs would’ve been top 3 on Sgt. Pepper.
Apparently that was George Martins biggest regret when it came to The Beatles.

Everything too cold and toxic now. Nowadays you’re called a simp or weak if you show TLC towards the opposite gender.
