you could make a strong case for her being the hardest working musician today
by doing copy and paste repeatedly?+?!?!??!
Even the 3rd is whatever… its clearly just not liking jack antonoff but to say to piggyback ride on his wave when they’ve been collabing since 2014 is just
yea i agree his wording is harsh but at least there was some truth in there
i personally love her collabs with jack

if youre looking for a copy and paste artist look at drake.
taylor has switched her style a decent amount in the span since reputation

SHE LITERALLY RERECORDS HER OLD MUSIC ! THAT IS COPY PASTE!
Taylor has merit as an artist i didnt think we needed to debate that part
SHE LITERALLY RERECORDS HER OLD MUSIC ! THAT IS COPY PASTE!
she has put out 5 original albums since 2017??
i'm not denying that she is a commercial artist and has a rollout plan for her album which includes multiple rounds of high quality bonus tracks. i think most popular artists try to maximize their commercial success.
i think it's a fan fiction that she times it to screw over other artists and that re-recording her albums is a money grab. i mean the story of why she's doing that is well known and she is also releasing lots of new albums in the same time period
saying she doesnt care about art and music is just dumb
15 remixes of midnights are high quality bonus tracks? I think we have a different outlook on music. It’s like if Kanye released a Chainsmokers remix of Runaway or something equally ridiculous.

She can look hot sometimes** too
Have only heard one Taylor album and that was 10 minutes ago so I have no place in this convo

you're now conflating a couple of her bonus tracks with the original ones:
14. "The Great War"
15. "Bigger Than the Whole Sky"
16. "Paris"
17. "High Infidelity"
18. "Glitch"
19. "Would've, Could've, Should've"
20. "Dear Reader"
also donda exists and involved ye putting out multiple versions of the same songs with different features
She makes 15 different versions of the same single every time she releases one, and times the release of each version specifically to f*** over other artists. She’s re-recording all of her albums as another money grab.
She has very little credibility as an artist these days, considering she seems to care very little about art and music. She just wants to generate as much capital for herself as possible which I mean is a fair thing to do but we do get to criticize her for it anyway.
Her only gameplan to retain some semblance of art credibility has been to piggyback ride on the Jack Antonoff critic bait wave specifically designed for Pitchfork writers and casual Starbucks internet critics to swoon over.
I think it's possible for her to be milking as much money as she can without just erasing all of the artistic credibility. like yeah i still agree it hurts it but i still think there is a really clear artistic vision (even on the modern stuff) that makes it impossible for me to see the music as purely a tool to make money. things like career arc, changes in sound, prolific songwriting, a generational ability to tap into audience emotion. I don't think it's fair to say she cares little about the music. Stylistic noncommercial shift for Folklore/Evermore is an obvious example but I guess if you don't like the music you can just try to spin it as a fake move to make it look artsy or something. It really comes. I think that is what it really comes down to, if you actually connect with the music or not. In my view she obviously has these flaws but still has a fascinating career with hours of great and varied music that places her with the best of pop music/21st century artists in general.
i agree the re-recordings are annoying cash grabs. but I think they also are a way to recontextualize previous work in a new light, an opportunity to release/finish many non-album tracks are worthy additions to her legacy, and a way to actually reclaim full control back from predatory label s***. even if the last part is really overstated)
do you think this lack of artistic credibility thing is just a recent phenomenon with her? like in the midnights/eras tour era only, or do you think it extends back further into his career?
