so back in like 2000, Dilla covered James "Plunky" Branch's African Rhythms on Welcome 2 Detroit.
Covered it, not sampled, but it was pretty much exactly like the track.
Years later, J Cole samples Dilla's cover and so Plunky get's a check for his writing credit.
Plunky said in an interview that he gets more money from that J Cole track than anything else he's done in his career
