I think for me it’s the combination of his production + subject matter + voice that don’t really do it for me. Brent had a good voice, but it’s not really that interesting to me and hasn’t moved me in the past when I’ve listened to him.

And then his production never really does it for me and the cherry on top is the whole “toxic” persona which I think is ridiculously overdone by men and women in music today to seem cooler since these days nerds on the internet will call your music corny if it’s positive and full of love.
