I'll throw this out there though,even after reading the article,I feel like its a waste of time on the authors part. Its an extra long thinkpiece that won't get read by anyone except people who share his sentiments.
Let the art be art,and let the people who's doing what you like (he compares Kendrick Lamar to Marvin Gaye and John Lennon in this article)continue to do them and support those types. The article isn't necessarily wrong,there's just no real place for it.
