i dont think i know what his solo production even is as much so im mostly thinking of neptunes + his other stuff as an artist i guess idk where hes more visible

well i mean sure but neptunes as a duo is pretty different than solo p, u can tell chad was the mastermind behind a lot of their best production

so that’s why i like 2 make the distinction

I prefer Timbo as a Pop producer than Rap producer too. Idk if that's a hot take but I stand by that

Chad added the right parts and elevated their production but P laid the foundation.

but i guess if u don’t like hip hop/r&b a lot of the music is gonna seem overrated 2 u

just as a whole producers mean different things in hip hop/rnb compared to rock or pop/jazz

producers in hip hop make the beat and do alot of the craft themselves whereas in other genres producers are more or less the team leader that works with an artist to get somewhere but doesn't do any of the labor itself

the hits are undeniable but those hits dont all connect with me much

i do respect the prolificness more than anything. i think i just dont connect with that general era's sound for pop/rap/R&B to a crazy extent or have as much nostalgia for it really

i still do like them both a lot, especially hip hop

maybe im just dusty with that tho since all my favorite producers for hip hop probably would have peaked earlier than neptunes/timbaland
