Well if I had to guess its cuz I started listening to music on my own around 05-06, so there’s not really any nostalgia factor for me unless it’s a mega hit like outkast or in da club level music, and then allot of songs from that time just have production I don’t really enjoy, imo the drums sound clunky and just awkward allot of the time with some exceptions. Def got a few things I enjoy but for the most part just not my favorite at all, I’ll even include late 90’s in that too like after Biggie died

We got into music around the same time but my older brother put me onto all the stuff he listened from the years before. I lump all of it together even though it's different eras. I understand where the disconnect lies with you. At least you ain't fakin it but you missing out on some special music, beloved.
