WESLEYS THEORYMaybe it’s a hot take idk but I think Michael was at his peak vocally with Bad.
He could do the softer smooth delivery of OTW/Thriller still while also adding the grit to his voice that he used a lot in the second half of his career. Real versatility in his vocals during that period.
Too bad he damaged his vocals on the Bad tour.

Michael never lost his ability to sing well, but he did lose some of his range from Dangerous onward and had to strain sometimes to reach high notes
With that being said, Stranger In Moscow is a top 5 MJ song for me. Masterpiece.
