Idk how much sense this makes, but Billie Eilish is prime trauma/mental illness romanticization to me. Gestures at it in broad and tired ways in how she presents herself but the music never commits to treating it with the depth and respect it deserves. Worst impulses of the Tumblr era rolled into one artist.
