their first album is great but its super distorted and just features malkmus (singer) not even TRYING to sing on key

ironically enough i think their first and last albums are my favorite for totally different, borderline oppositional reasons

their last album terror twilight is a super pretty album

probably terror twilight! good mix of “bangers” and slower songs combined w probably their most reflective songwriting

like pavement’s alphabet soup approach usually did a good (if not a bit lopsided lmfao) job of balancing the emotional subtext with the more overt silliness, but on terror twilight they really dial in and it does feel like their “most mature” record

spit on a stranger is a really powerful song, does a lot to me. if u like that one + carrot rope id say u’d dig the album generally
