Oh yeah for sure. He never fully shook off the “frat rap” label he go slapped with even though he wasn’t even making music like that at all anymore with DF and Swimming.
I can say with pride that I was a real ass fan and I was bumping Swimming alongside Astroworld when they dropped the same day.
I just meant his friends in the music business. Especially in hip-hop. Watching people like ScHoolboy and Vince get emotional over him was crazy to see. And that’s barely scratching the surface. He was really, really loved.

ScHoolboy to this day everytime you bring up Mac, his whole demeanor does a 180. You can tell his passing just devastated him and he’ll probably never fully get over it. But that’s understandable. They were best friends for a period of time and were always close.

I still remember my first listen to swimming especially 2009 I cried. I’m lucky I got to see him live as my first concert. But yeah seeing the love that poured out from people you would least expect about just his character was so inspiring. Everyone wants a friend like him.
I think his death hit so hard bc he felt like a friend. Especially bc he was only a few years older than me he felt like a big brother to me I could always look forward to his music to be there with me. S*** so tragic
