It’s I think my favorite of his films.
it captures the horrors lurking beneath the surface of a seemingly idyllic suburbia - the American dream (at the time) wonderfully and it has that dreamy quality to it that makes you question whether any of this is even actually happening
I think it struck a nice balance/ tone that some of his later work I’ve seen hasn’t but not everyone rates the movie like that
great take and i agree
my fav projects of his are the ones that strike at a certain facet of americana, bringing you into a world and corrupting it like a poisonamongst his other works it's probably a bit underrated but i think most lynch fans have it solidly top 5
i really appreciate it though, feels like the groundwork being laid for his next 2 decades in the film and tv space
