Most people on ktt hate both but both still have a fanbase on here
Either I didn’t get what you tried to send or I’m as blind as Stevie portrays himself to be

@AllisonXO i never really listened to Stevie albums like that apart from SITKOL and I gotta say I’ve been listening Talking Book since you recommended it and I’m in love

I'm glad you love it
It has that warm Soul that hits perfectly in the morning time. If you love Talking Book you'll love the rest of the following albums because they keep the same spirit. You should probably stay away from Journey Through the Secret the Life of Plants, since it's a soundtrack album that's non-canon. In Square Circle is the last of the golden run, imo. You will hear a lot of Tyler the Creator and Pharrell on that particular album.

It’s just so sexy while remaining extremely varied and interesting throughout. I also appreciate how political it is at times during an era where that was very frowned upon by the industry.
Maybe Your Baby sounds like he listened to highway rock and was like “nah bet I’m going to make the best version of this kind of music ever”. Those synthesizers and guitars cohesively singing together is one of my favorite moments on the album.
He also manages to incorporate both smooth and supremely funky love songs throughout. There’s a stark vibe difference between “You and I” and “Tuesday Heartbreak” yet they still transition perfectly into each other.
Two of his best songs ever (You are the Sunshine Of My Life and Superstition) are on it.
I would rank this album a 10/10. It’s perfection and I’m so excited about it tbh. I feel like I’ve been underappreciating Stevie’s artistry my entire life despite always liking him and his hits.
