Wasn't on Bad because it was an old ass track by the time they started recording Bad in 1986.
You're hearing a song recorded a week after Thriller dropped. Thats why the vocals haven't really found the grit and rasp he picked up later on.

That might've been a 2021 addition. Trying modernize it a bit.
The 85 and 86 s*** was much more synthy and mechanical then the Thriller work.

loads of those bad outtakes got pulled out of the vault in the 2000s so i'm massively curious what would've happened in another universe where MJ lives. We might've gotten an anthology but with him finishing the tracks in the 2000s instead
