WESLEYS THEORYCole just has had such a strong cult following all these years and it’s kind of a headscratcher when you take everything into consideration.
As I’ve always said, his relatability factor has been his strongest asset for years. I think for some average people, there’s a slight disconnect with Drake and Kendrick on an emotional level where Cole actually resonated.
The reason why Cole really popped off with FHD is because that’s when he realized his true strength and played into the humble aesthetic.
I don’t think he popped off with FHD. He had already popped off by then. It’s his most acclaimed album but it didn’t bring him more stardom than he already had
