1. Kurt was a legit hipster. He hated fame and was ready to go solo and make acoustic music, according to Michael Stipe.

2. Nirvana is only still relevant because they broke up. If they stayed together, they couldn’t be preserved in time with a perfect story like The Beatles. They would’ve been just another ‘90s alternative rock band that tours and doesn’t make new music even close to as good as their hits. They also would’ve been inevitable sellouts due to Geffen owning everything they do.

3. Foo Fighters absolutely would’ve still happened because Dave is not Kurt and needs his own space. I just don’t think we would’ve gotten it in the same way. I doubt we’re getting Everlong or Learn to Fly if Dave is still a regular member of Nirvana but we definitely get something.
