honestly i think they both sound like their time equally (PR definitely beyond just somethings like 80s drum sound or production) but its just easier to call PR timeless and act like it could have come out today because its much better
feel like the dated/timeless discussion is more part of the commodity aspect of music than the art part...imagine painting enjoyers saying that paintings look too old or something
Well
I would say for example Supa Dupa Fly is an album that could come out today completely unchanged and still sound as fresh as it did in the 90’s because it was ahead of it’s time and In some sense still is. Same with Stankonia. I do think somethings are more timeless than others personally
