I liked DD a lot more on second listen. The doom and gloom is very well juxtaposed by the glam like you said

My first listen it just seemed overly dark but I got much more out of it the second time

kanye was just always better than bowie and held to a higher standard

They’re obviously vastly different when looking at genre but I see a lot of parallels between the two. Many of the reasons I praise Kanye, I share for Beethoven as well. Beethoven also sorta re-established in the western world what the role of a musician is currently today.
