Yeah youre right. It’s a part of your brain that closes off to changing when you get older. Im not sure about emotional versus logical but its a part Thats neuroplastic that no longer becomes neuroplastic after 5 or 6
Language learning is able to do something to your plasticity tho still even as an adult bc iirc there’s a ton of studies between it and fighting of dementia and stuff

Oh im good i find that stuff kinda upsetting. But thats exactly what happens. Thats why kids not just with autism that are none verbal but people with severe dyslexia, peopel who are deaf, people with behaviroal issues that dont learn things in school is so serious because if you miss those time frames theyre cooked for the rest fo their lives and will never have an equal shot as everybody else ( at best at worst theyre none functioning and dependant adults)

Ive heard that too. Idk if thats like because languages are similar. Like it would be faster for me to learn Spanish or Italian than you guys because theyre so similar ot french. But if we all tried to learn Japanese i dont think i would have an advantage
Similar languages help and then also prob just something about getting your brain used to creating the kind of connections necessary to learn a new language

Ok this what people do to me.
I am not saying you CANNOT learn languages when you get older. Im not saying that at all. You can learn a language in youre 80s if you wanted to.
You just cannot learn it to the same level as someone who started at 4 or younger. Even if on the outside you function just as well, the way your brain processes language on the inside wont be as fast as the person who learned it at 4. Youre default thinking wont ever switch to another language. Like I think in french often. And I dont mean people thinking in English for a bit while being around English.
