This might be pedantic because we are kinda saying the same thing, but I don’t think being more skilled in composition makes you a better artist, artist is all encompassing of so many variables including business, niches, contexts, time. It just makes them very proficient at Composition.
I say that as someone who’s entire career is being built off of technical knowledge of composition 99.9% of visual artists do not have

The definition of art is just self expression. So Kendrick’s album is a better self expression drakes? Like I get being like oh these technical aspects are more novel or forward thinking. But art wise u can’t really compare as per its definition
