Yea I agree with u about the mainstream piece. Underground aside the genre is not in a place like it was during its golden years where at a minimum 5-10 beloved albums would drop each year. Now there are maybe 1 or 2.
Idk what this means in regard to the drake discussion but i feel like his recent works are still very elite as compared to the severe drought of competition in the mainstream rap lane.

Shoutout doechii tho I think her 2024 propelled her into this lane and I look forward to hearing her future projects

if ye dropped during the JIK era or like early 2020 it would've been very liked/cult classic

it just dropped after a 2.5 year wait and got tainted in the middle of MAGA era kanye which clouded judgement

actually a very solid album and does what it's supposed to
