I agree completely. I love the idea of an elon musk type talent coming in and cutting the fat on the government with the goal of improving the country by cutting spending where it should be cut and freeing up money for other things.

Problem is not in his talent it’s in his motivation/intent which surely is not to improve the country it’s to improve trump and his own positions

That’s a bit misleading to say. Not all of our foreign military bases are serving as defense for other countries, or are even unwanted. A lot of them are placed strategically for political purposes. I just looked it up and we have 750 military bases overseas. that’s insane.

He planned to raise taxes for the “top 1% that own 99% of all the wealth in america!” — you know, that whole spiel he does.

I’m not really opposed to raising taxes on the ultra rich. However, I would much prefer corporate tax loopholes were closed and taxes were instead raised on corporations. I think anyone that suggests raising taxes (I.e. Kamala/Biden) without making that their main priority is a false prophet.

I have been thinking a lot about trumps motivation because I don’t think he has sincere desire to become a dictator for the sake of ruling the world. I think he’s an egomaniac who likes power, wealth and esteem for their own sake, not because he wants to actually rule. When I think of trump breaking democracy and being our first dictator I’m like really? Him? He’s got no motive besides his ego. He doesn’t care about things except himself

Elon is more of an industrialist with his sights on going down in the history books as an all time great innovator. I think he has some legit good intent in the technology space to push things forward but I don’t think he has any governmental motivation. He doesn’t care about people he cares about tech and going to mars. And he needs a whole lotta money to fulfill his big ideas

I think they should have a yearly American sacrifice where one of the elite is sacrificed and their wealth is spread among a lucky selected few

That is a fair question and I’m not sure of the distinction. I guess I’m saying I don’t think trump wants to conquer the world like hitler. I don’t think he wants to rule in a way that makes America stronger domestically. I think he only wants to be powerful and use that power to improve his own life
