the point of art is to be the expression of human creativity

L it's actually just to mindlessly stimulate our senses

    correct

I could've sworn you'd thought 'Glam Slam' was meh before the electric guitar kicked in, though.

music industry is already as lazy as it comes and most albums/songs are done without purpose, last thing we need is MORE shortcuts and technology upgrades to help these talentless hacks

I mean if the music sucks then I agree, which most does, but if an AI aided song sounds incredible?

I don't think anyone is releasing music fully created and crafted by ai lol

Maybe some electronic music no one cares about by ghost artists

Other than that it's mostly used as a tool and personally I could care less if Carti is writing or performing his own vocals

It's not like there's any substance or skill being displayed

But why can’t AI be a tool for that? It’s still a human putting in prompts and looking for a specific result

I think AI can be a tool but using it to just generate the work, in place of an actual artist is bleak to think about. 99% of ai art feels completely soulless, because it is.

no i was gonna say the guitar sounded bad but i like the song

Here's my wild hot take: DJ Swamp Izzo doesn't ruin any of the songs; his presence enriches them instead.

I think AI as a tool in music can be cool for like stem separation and stuff

I agree, it’s what the output sounds like. But what if it doesn’t sound soulless. Also I think there’s a large placebo effect knowing it’s AI. The timeless verse is a great example of that. Once people found out it’s AI, they suddenly stopped fw it but nothing actually changed musically

I mean, if your voice sounds like s*** (Eminem) and you can make it sound better thru AI like he did, I don’t see a problem. For example.

Which is valid because that sorta undermines a ginormous part of makes art so important.

prince would've crafted an AI album and then shelved it in a diff timeline and artist would be saying it was a masterpiece that would've changed the industry

We are also definitely at the time where we should specify instead of just saying "AI" because the term is so broad (also buzzwordy)

Such a big difference between generating a song and technically using some AI thing as a tool

Same with movies, like people calling Brutalist AI slop is hilarious

But it’s still art, no? Just a different tool to create it.
