So especially if the production is fantastic why does it matter. Cocteau twins make gibberish music. It’s f***ing phenomenal tho
well, the difference is that the Cocteau twins and other artists intend for the music to be gibberish or instrumental or whatever. Thats their artistic vision. But if an artist believes the lyrical content is an important major factor, listening without having that piece feels less fulfilling.
With that said, I still like plenty of music in other languages but only if it’s catchy, if that makes sense.
Like for example, I don’t need to understand Spanish to enjoy Danza Kuduro, but I can’t imagine listening to like the spanish version of Bob Dylan and liking it without the lyrics.

Folkier foreign music is a bit of a “lesser” experience but if I like how it sounds I can still enjoy it. But I get you and nort even if I can still find enjoyment in it anyway
