my stance on it is that the guy seems mentally unwell and without stable housing. i can definitely understand why he’d request more money from people he knows sent him money before, and why he would keep making threads asking for money. things don’t just magically get better. from what i read, i don’t think he was scamming, i think he just needs money a lot.

at the same time, i don’t think people on here know him well enough to make a big deal out of that thread in the first place tbh. it’s very weird energy, going into a thread to s*** on a guy for being down bad consistently.

but this also isn’t a charity/gofundme site, this is a music discussion & community building site. wrong place to ask for help if nobody even knows you on here.

how is it scamming if nobody forced you to send money & you were never promised anything back?

i know for a fact there are multiple people on this site without stable housing, so nothing he says seems far-fetched imo

Yesterday was super active

First he’s homeless with nowhere to go, ok
Then he’s suicidal
Then his best friend suddenly dies of cancer
Then HE suddenly gets cancer
Then he talks about how he had surgery and he’s fine and turned out not to be a big deal
And then a year later he suddenly has cancer again saying he’s been undergoing chemotherapy
Then his mom dies
Then he never talks about cancer again
And now he’s back suicidal

Could all of that have happened? Sure, it’s possible. But the crux is any time somebody asked him for any proof, he would just ghost them and disappear.

Somebody even wanted to donate a large sum to him through a foundation that helps people with cancer to pay for treatment but needed proof of cancer for that, and he ghosted them completely. He’s asking people to cashapp him money for meds but at the same time ignoring something that would really help him? It’s too illogical to be real.
