There’s no difference besides in theory you can sue here that’s about it. You still have little say over what really happens with it in America
yeah, i think also its just different problems though because its a potential massive national security issue vs. companies abusing us issue (and they can also overlap of course)
if its more of a national security thing its also harder to see the downsides of while its happening, other countries influencing foreign democracies based on all their data is terrible. (and def. will be increasingly part of US strategy i'm sure)
real solution is to not use any of these though or at least exercise as much caution as we can
im hypocrite cuz im still paying chatgpt at the moment because ive found it to be so much better at helping with my classes, but once im done im never paying again. (or when i get new desktop pc soon tbh, maybe i can locally run models good enough for me)

One thing that I’ve always felt was disheartening is they give you these terms and conditions to agree to knowing most can’t / won’t read all that but even if they do there is no clause of way to say I agree to XYZ but not B or something
There’s no selective opt out so the illusion of choice is either be in and have little say or be out and be for some situations ostracized or unable to get back in daily functions if it’s regarding work or business
Manufactured consent you could say ..

yeah i dont think our regulations of this stuff is going in the right direction either (or lack of regulations)
