i genuinely dont think theres any valid definition of rock that doesnt also include 99% of music labeled as "indie" over the years

(most of that indie stuff is either indie rock or indie pop anyway, both of which are very firmly rock in my eyes)

thats the problem with very broad categories though, and rock and "indie" are both broad. also part of why i never say "indie" just on its own
