Realistically you should have it on hand for as many hits as possible. If you have certain counters planned in advance + links, it gives you a slight upperhand imo.

I’ve also noticed that it can work in your favor too if the song that counters is not only better, but matches up well with the opposing song. Like Find A Way is a classic love song, Ms. Jackson is ALSO a classic love song that the majority considered better.

If you play a soft song I'm matching it with a soft song. I'm trying to make the rounds as cohesive as I can. Just like when you played Can't Deny It I played Certified Gangstas even though that wasn't originally on my setlist. It clearly didn't work in my favor but it made more sense for the VZ
