Ok ill just add a very simplistic review of it since I didn’t think that in depth about it as I was reading it

I found the character’s lack of empathy to be quite jarring throughout the whole story and right until the end when he does become more expressive and reflecting a bit on his life I thought it would end up with him being pardoned as some sort of “that’s all it took” moment. But at the same time I liked his whole simplistic outlook on enjoying the little things he had going on in his life.

Aside from that the story was just alright. It didn’t leave me in amazement or anything but it wasn’t completely boring either

I still don’t know why its called the stranger tho

Basically the book centers around two main plot points. 1. The main characters mom dies and he takes care of her funeral arrangements. 2. The main character kills someone and gets put on trial.

During the trial, the lawyer basically entirely ignores the murder, and convinces the jury that the main character deserves death because “he didn’t cry at his moms funeral” and “he drank coffee at the funeral home”
