Like a Camillimaneit was good i enjoyed it as a whole
story? obvious cliche nonsense with a million plot holes and things that would never in a billion years happen in f1 but the driving and cinematography with the soundtrack and sound design? f*** yeah man
the daytona 24 hour race at the very start of the movie was honestly my fav part of the film and felt more alive and energetic than the actual f1 races because of all the cuts they kept doing, shame kosinski didn't have more non edit/cuts during the f1 races, way more intense when they didn't keep cutting
kosinski is kind've cooking he might be a top 7-12 director rn for making good blockbusters that just feel good and are fun cinema/imax experiences, this whole movie much like top gun felt like a classic 90s-early 2000s blockbuster and that's a welcomed change to the garbage that has been pumped out the last 10 years from pseudo creatives at a24, marvel and foreign film
Yup i was kinda late to the theater so I walked in like as BP was getting in the car for Daytona idk how much I missed before that but I legit forgot it wasn’t even an F1 scene I was just into it. The film is really nice to look at and agreed on the actual f1 races I think the cuts actually made s*** more confusing I was hoping for more unbroken footage
The one shot where it’s like split screen had me sitting all the way up in my seat then they do it for 30 seconds and cut away
Overall same the actual plot/ dialogue was so cheesy, so on the nose, so cliche but also that’s the whole point of these big dumb fun event summer movies. I really liked Top Gun 2 and I liked this. Could see this becoming a lowkey comfort movie for me to just put on

damson idris stock might be low after this movie though, it's my first time ever seeing him on the screen and in an extended role and he feels like a charisma blackhole, he had essentially 3 expressions "insecure/focused/angry" but idk how much of it is the cut and if he had scenes removed that fleshed out the character more
all i could think about was @Prince everytime he was on screen and i had to stop myself from laughing when he was sweaty as f*** and running shirtless because i was thinking of that polish freak
