Bop it
Is that what trav be saying
Innovation isn’t dead
Artists just have to stop worrying about not looking cool and experiment a bit
Mix s*** that hasn’t really been mixed before
I don't think popular artists aren't experimenting because they are worried about how cool they look
I think they are pushed to do whatever makes the most money and what is popular/good to most people is decided by an algorithm that tries to appeal to teenagers instead of how music was gate kept before
ijbol
Theyre right.
when someone said here "what does the 2020s actually sound like" I felt that
It sounds like an aesthetic

Yep, rappers are way too conscious about image, and therefore take themselves too seriously nowadays. Also, a lot of these new rappers aren't cool/cultured like in the past, new school rappers move like High School/College Students.(and that's who they appeal too)
what could they mix that hasn't been mixed before
You’d be surprised man
He's got 3 classic albums, pleb
The way Nort would extend this to 4 and include Man Of The Woods
Justin got like one of the best Neptunes albums during their prime too
This Saturday I'm gonna take a bus alone to a mall and play justified by Timberlake and smoke a blunt and play pokemon on the gba
Living like it's 2002

Within good reason
Dumbass gen alpha kids will write off genuinely creative and unique stuff that sounds good if it doesn’t fit a certain mold that the streamers they watch will gas up.
It makes sense why some of them are scared to really innovate.
You’re only really given a pass for trying something innovative if you have a fanbase that supports it as apart of your aesthetic
Like Kanye in the 2010s
You’d be surprised man
believe it or not I'm a total music dork
maybe I'm just getting old but innovation naturally will slow down over time
I'm not saying something can't sound fresh but it seems mindblowing musical innovation is a thing of the past
