Same as today just “5 years” worse in a bunch of ways (inflation, greed, culture split, etc)

You see the study Apple did that showed most AI isn’t really capable of reasoning that much. They’re essentially like an advanced search engine at the moment. Good at recall not good at solving new problems.

I feel like the real reason why people are looking so towards the past for comfort these days is because the future looks bleak

It’s not a “fix” but think back to when the Industrial Revolution happened it’s not like jobs just disappeared forever otherwise how would I have a job today?

The jobs will just transition to other places, other types of jobs etc. sure there’s no more blacksmith but there’s a guy designing metal in cad.

Also AI is having an insane environmental impact and I think that may slow it down in the near future. Hopefully it does at least.

I think a threshold for current LLMs is that it can only formulate responses from existing information on the internet. If/when it can reason on its own is when it can get scary

But really it’s a blind devotion to profit and progress with 0 consideration to ethics bc the blowback doesn’t affect them in their day to days

I have mixed opinions on A.I

I have used it as a creative tool before but I will never used it to replace the human aspect of my creative process. Writing lyrics, making beats, generating vocals etc.

Its good for helping you like refine concepts, finding additional information, etc but yeah its a bit meh to use entire as your entire creative process. Even when it spits out like paragraphs of code I feel weird just "accepting" it.
