the bulk of people in creative fields just aren't actually creative, they pretend to have these visions and ideas for what they're doing but it's all just a facade of emptiness.
from the point of view of someone who creates things and actually likes art most people in these fields are copying/mimicking which is okay but they're mimicking the wrong part of art they like. they copy the style/aesthetic/visual but not the feeling it gave them
you should be trying to make other people feel what u felt when u heard a really good piece of music or saw a movie that left u speechless but these 0 iq f***head modern day artists are just pseudo creators and not actually artists because the real creative people can't get into industries that have locked the doors

Mimicking part is why all this 80’s revival s*** always always always was lacking something. The aesthetic was there but it always feel mostly flat with rare rare examples of it not being that way
Personally: hate blinding lights
I want some tacos G

Strange how greatest richest country on earth can’t do anything like this

What does the 2020s sound like
A scary question
What does the 2020s sound like
A scary question
Nothing
It doesn’t have its own sauce
Only people moving with their own sauce don’t have enough pull on the game at large to make a definitive sound
The 2020’s sound like s***ty rehashes of better songs over dog s*** drill beats or lazy samples with nostalgia doing all the lifting
What does the 2020s sound like
A scary question
I feel like that’s a difficult question to answer in the present
We would probably have a more definite idea once we’re closer to the 2030s

worst music decade in at least 4 decades
worst music decade in at least 4 decades
worst decade for music ever tbh
The 2020’s sounds like a continuation of the 80’s revival s*** (done way too clean by all mainstream acts), s***ty drill samples, lazy samples and pop songs you have never heard in your life that go number 1 for several years
And house/ dance made a comeback kinda
like I love a lot of individual albums but there's no interesting scene to follow or much history being made
lana del rey influencing people who used to make good/great music into making some of the worst music ever is just insane
she might genuinely be a net negative to music and society
like I love a lot of individual albums but there's no interesting scene to follow or much history being made
They’ll say regional underground collective s*** like slums or griselda or Detroit whatever
Which I like some of that stuff but a lot of it is legit boring as a whole

I feel a lot of the 2020s have been attempting to create escapism music or music with more joy/energy like the 2000s, but we as a society have become so cynical that it doesn’t have the authenticity to 100% pull it off.

we have Los Thuthanaka which sounds genuinely new this year

It’s not really “fun” music or scenes to follow
