It’s hard to be forced to apply a second language though in the US so there’s little pressure to learn. Spanish would be closest maybe but even then you really never have to.
I mean I think Spanish should be flat out recognized as an official must know language like besides all my bias on the topic. There’s a ton of Spanish speakers in the US, why not embrace that. I get what you mean but in that same token Americans are kinda d***s about it sometimes

I mean I get you for sure from the perspective of a native English speaker or someone born in America. But it would be crazy for like a Haitian or something tha to have to learn both English and Spanish
