im just tellin him I think it is a bit unrealistic for such a huge shift to occur because of funding and public perception of the necessity of it

we arent really disagreeing about it being a positive thing for more people to learn languages in general, but I just dont think it is happening here anytime soon

from what ive read the criticism about the hypotheses being either difficult to test or just not proven enough to speak so authoritatively about it makes sense to me. wouldnt be surprised at all if its proven more in the next decades but also wouldnt be surprised if there were some important distinctions/differences and the CI stuff turns out to just be very helpful and not perfect to follow like gospel the way it is now
I mean the whole 1000 hours no speak thing is a very DS centric thing. Lottttt of discourse and argument about it online. At the end of the day it is what works for you but input is the major way in my personal opinion. How you get there or use it can vary prob
