i watched what was sorta a competitive parenting show where a panel of child behavioral experts graded families
best family was where the parents basically communicated with their kids like they were tiny adults. they had mature understandings of respect that you’d find in more adult relationships. idk how exactly they got to that point, but it was interesting to see.
and the parents did have this “we’re the parents and you do what we say!!” type attitude
it was like they were all players in a team, and the kids understood their role and their importance in it. that make sense?
My mom grabbed me by my hair once and threw me to the floor when I broke her cutting board after she yelled at me lol
Yeah I mean that’s doing way too much , over a cutting board especially. That’s just abuse.
But if my 16 year old beat up like a 12 year old or something like that, I would beat his ass. There’s no other real solution

Yeah I’ve also heard it’s good to like never baby talk your kid. They’ll develop and speak at a way better level than other kids who do
But yeah I can see that like approach with the idea they’re a kid still but not baby them either
Concerning that only way to convey anger itt is hands on or yelling. Need some management lessons for the thread.

At what point that 16 year old should be going to jail tbh
Like i feel almost all the reasonable reasons to hit ur child are jail deserving reasons
See that sounds like a crazy reaction that isnt deserved to throw ur child in the floor
I dont think ruling by fear truly helps
She had a wooden paddle that had holes in it with bad attitude adjustment tool on it she would spank us with. Biblical ass

their expectations of maturity were pretty high and I think that was a key part of it. like, you’re a kid now, but you will be an adult very soon. start practicing now.
Therapy talk is highkey a net negative imo
i get the idea and sentiment but like I am a very blunt and direct person I hate that fluffy stuff
Confrontation and uncomfortable situations are an inherent part of life you cannot avoid it and stick only to safe bubbles idk
yeah im kinda unsure tbh
like its good to understand things more and not hate yourself for certain things you can't change. but at the same time i don't want to lean too far into accepting everything and gaslighting myself to think it's fine...
It’s supposed to be automatic, like pulling stuff in from your accounts
So when someone texts you like “what time will you be at work” or whatever it should automatically populate the right answer in the response selections
They already updated it once since I got the phone
I think it's something they are really focused on
F*** it's work time. Why does commute not count for my f***ing pay?
show was called The Parent Test and it has one season. found it

Again, that’s more the kids than the parents. Nature is a large part, even though obviously nurture is also a large part.
But let me ask you, let’s say your 8 year old son keeps punching you in the d*** and laughing every day. And you’ve already said “Nort Jr, please stop” countless times, took away toys, took away tv or tablet privileges, whatever. You’ve tried everything. And you still keep getting d*** punched.
What do you do? Easily solved by punching him in the d*** once imo
they went on about this pseudoscientific “7 styles of parenting” bs too much but it was still an interesting watch

It can if you become a big rig driver
Most times you don’t end up in situations like that. The parents that would hit a 5 year old for throwing a tantrum or something small like that are insane.
