The nonlinear story telling approach didn't really add anything for me, and it actually kinda damages the pacing of the movie. I think switching to multiple different characters is a pretty desperate move to increase the runtime of a movie that you don't really want to add much plot to. Especially if you aren't going to really try to flesh any of the characters out.
