labels are the perfect boogeyman for artists/fans of artists to use as a reason why something isn't where it could be or should be
noticing that labels get flak for everything bad but never get credit for the good stuff
not even taking a label side here but people will act like the label is super evil after dropping 400 million on an artist's career and doing all the legal work for them
