when you try to remake MOTM at home
There was aspects of it similar to Black Panther, in particular the percussion from Pray For Me that was reused on Mirror, but both those albums are vastly different overall.
Black Panther is inspired by and is a celebration of African music and takes heavy inspiration from that type of world music and those artists.
And then Mr. Morale is inspired by classical music and art rock. Hence why on the album, the primary instruments used throughout were Piano and strings. A very deliberate choice the same way that Saxophone was all over TPAB.
Separate convo here but do you think If Kendrick and (older like 11-16) Kanye locked in they would make a good project?

Yeah but a lot of it sounds exactly like his contemporaries
And usually you go to Kendrick to be the guy pushing the envelope at least musically
Like you cannot tell me die hard and Purple Hearts couldn’t just be shoved on BP
N95 is also just a safe ass hit song
He just played it really safe for his return, which is fine, but for his standards it’s like “ok, cool”
i love stepping stone man
I was talking about venom

If they actually took it seriously and didn’t just f*** around in the studio like they did over Bandana beats? Absolutely.
They were both creatively at top tier level at the same time and I think Kanye’s unorthodox methods of producing would’ve brought out some amazing ideas from Kendrick.

Like venom is the meme of “eminem” personified
Movie song
Terrible voice
Weird ass rhyming crap

For every safe song there is a Worldwide Steppers or United in Grief or We Cry Together
