You like this more than original?
Probably tbh. This song is amazing to me. Love Sick is also my AOTY I think it could be his best work

I love both Don is one of my favs right now and Kali been one of top girls
Most people liked it though. Maybe not on an assessable level like DAMN but it was successful in its own right. If the album wasn't liked generally, trust me it would've been known. When an artist drops a Revival or a The Big Day, you know.
I mean the same could be said for scorpion, but a lot of people on here would say it’s a misstep
Nobody was saying it was a flop, just not up to par with his usual work. Not even an assessable thing cause tlop was amazing
i wish he sorta locked in on one sound on that album BUT
at the same time i can recognize a certain consistency within inconsistency, and i think it fits with the way he tackled all sorts of themes/perspectives within the record
after all cohesiveness doesn’t always have to be found within how the songs literally sound
Great observation I agree with.
Imperfection and removing the martyr image from he the human being was the general idea behind the album.
As he said in the grammy speech
He was looking for imperfection and he found it.
Next time will be a total 180

U peeped Love Sick yet? And this is actually my first time knowingly hearing Kali Uchis, and found out they’re a couple that makes the song even better to me lol
true i forgot he added that s*** LMAO
That’s why he’s the goat

Exactly
it was as scatter brained as the topics within the songwriting
it was kendrick’s folklore in a sense
writing songs removed from his own perspective

Absolutely. I thought it was flames but I'm partial to his previous work tbh. This was more of a grower on me. Kali has been killin it with R&B for close to 10 years now. If you like this song you'll love the rest of her work for sure.

Oh wow
Ari helped Justin, Gaga, Weeknd and soon Drake get a #1. Add Kendrick to the list
Ya feel me?
Yep.
Goodnight my love. Sweet dreams

Last part isn't accurate
Mr. Morale was the most personal Kendrick album we've received. It was the first album he made for himself and a lot of the content on the album touches on him personally and the generational trauma passed down that he's struggled to come to terms with for decades.
