You can tell Logic really knows his s*** and respects it, but it feels so try hard and way to on the nose. Like he’s looking for validation from having an MPC and making a mixtape with an alter ego like DOOM or a beat tape like Dilla.
Like paying homage and referencing artists of the past is one thing but taking their whole idea and doing it yourself with a slight alteration just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

those are the jazz albums ive had downloaded for a while but havent listened yet. so various sources like checking out more of artist discographies and also just more minor classics i havent heard yet. was seeking out a lot of post-bop a little while ago too

Logic feels the need to prove to us that he's part of the same cloth and grew up on Dilla and Doom, as if that's gonna make his music any better or more "authentic".
