A wash to me is like 4 and under

Counter-point: would it be fair to say you’re comparing the two based off how they tie into Sonic’s gameography and not just the merits of the games themselves

However, i also said from the jump that I appreciate that in SA1, you don’t HAVE to do the big the cat fishing levels to finish the game. Whereas in SA2, you’re not beating that game unless u do the treasure levels, which break up the momentum of the game a bit for me
SA1 can simply be a fast paced sonic romp from beginning to end if the player chooses it to be, and i also feel as tho the levels feel slightly more open as opposed to some of the more claustrophobic level designs in SA2

like i feel like those games are results of Shadow being such a popular character in SA2, and it sorta leads to the
DBZ fan character esque nature of later sonic games like Forces or most egregiously Sonic 06
SA1 is more tapped in with the classic sonic vibe

very good game however I only played the DS version, which is truthfully just Rush 3 as opposed to a true handheld iteration of Sonic Colors
