Well I totally get if the music just didn’t connect for you on that level. It’s an album that took repeated listens to really understand and while I don’t think it’s better then GKMC and TPAB, I do think it’s a great album that’s misunderstood to a degree.

Album is an 8/10 held back by a couple stinkers. Delete those 2 and put I’m Better on the album and it’s a 9/10.
We cry together is an amazing song filled with storytelling and similar songs have had a place in rap for a long time
A nice homage and nod to Eminem while also displaying his deficiencies as a man

Kind of reminds me of Earls progression from IDLSIDGO to SRS
DAMN was extremely pessimistic and you could tell he was depressed af on it if you looked deep enough and Mr. Morale was him trying get himself out of that place and succeeding on Mirror. Kind of like how SRS was Earl trying get to a place of hope after being completely depressed on IDLS

I think this is a really good write up. I enjoyed how as opposed to optimism, which most artists would try after a pessimistic venture.. he went with a compromising and solid middle ground… which is ultimately more true to life
