He makes all the different 3d shapes stand out lots it's probably good for practice if u wanna draw real stuff
yeah he does! he was a wizard at that. he super lightly wraps all these lines around the surface, like a 3d mesh in computer poragraming to get that effect. and uses the fur and stuff to hide it.
and its super anatomically accurate too. theres stuff he embellishes that are hard to see on real cats unless you feel them and infer it.
the one all poofed up its like third down from the left side is my fav i think lol
its so cute
grinding hard getting back on my s***

That type of thing is hard to like capture the depth of each individual blob to make up the thing
Even if u get the perspective right for the blobs it will still look weird if ur blobs aren't blobby enough
U gotta perfect blobs before u can draw real things
im really just trying to focus on getting back on my exercise and sleeping well above all else

Hell yeah you got this
Sleep is a tough one for me, only so many hours in a day but my schedules been on point this week 💯

This was a big problem in drawing classes growing up I think
They taught you to break it down into simple shapes like circles squares rectangles
But then when it came to actually make the thing they were like "ok now just make it a 3d detailed object" and I feel like that makes you like completely skip half of what goes into understanding what ur trying to doodle
U gotta perfect blobs before u can draw real things
yeah you do. its a long process. you gotta get like the gesture, then be able to break it down into simple blobs, then rectangles, then cylinders. and not just leran perspective but internalize to a level where you dont need a grid, you can just eyeball it and it looks right
tonight my girlfriend added a song to queue, which is good. but then she just skipped the current song to her song. not good.

It doesn't teach the younglings how to deal with actually making the thing
Like yeah the beginning step is simple shapes but when you look at a thing it's not just simple shapes that's only step 1 and they tell u to skip to step 10
Hell yeah you got this

its hard but its crazy important. sucks

for sure. the missing step that people teaching this stuff do, and is one of the hardest steps, is you have to undertsand the anatomy of what your drawing.
after you internalize those blobs and perspective, you gotta go through every visible muscle, every visible bone and draw them from every possible position using blobs and rectangles. then once you have all the pieces you patch it all together.
rinse and repeat for people, genders, ages, weights, every animal group.
then to be able to do it from imagination you have to have all this memorized.
its a HUGE gap between, doing the blobs, then adding details to make it look right. and drawing classes try to conceal that to take your money, or the instructors/people who wrote the books, dont know how to do it themlsves

100%
when i was learning, after the blobs i spent like 2 years learning just anatomy of people to fill that gap. and my instructor didnt like a single thing i did for those 2 years. it was pretty rough
i got it now though, but im still learning certain animals.

Paid art classes piss me off so much like some of them might be good but when I was a kid who was actually interested in getting good at drawing they were the worst scams in the entire world a total heist
Some like random failed cartoonist stealing money from families basically getting paid to tell kids/teens to doodle for an hour while not showing them anything and pretending it's all good
I never learned anything from paid art classes taught by like an individual person

yeah, i agree. there was never any local person who could do it where i lived either. i was jsut self taught from books i knew were used in animation from like 15-21. then i got in contact with an author of one of those books and took his classes, which were not a rip off. but pretty expensive.
btw that frustration extends to pretty “reputable” art schools too. my art school didnt teach me anything. there isnt an art school in canada that can, at least to the level i was interested in. the ones that do are in the usa and woudl have cost me 200k for a degree. and 4 years isnt long enough to learn the stuff anyway.
theres also so much bad information online too. its def a HUGE scam
although lots of what im taught is how to copy from paintings and drawings and learn from copying them.
just finding drawings and sketches you like, copying them and trying to emulate what you learned or liked from them yourself, will teach you as much as a person in an art class will.
its like learning music by ear
@aeiou bladee real for signing this hat

They are literally so freaking lame for the most part
Most artists are horrible teachers. Bad with words. Can't explain anything. Never even looked into how to be a good teacher. It's not what they do it's like the opposite of what they do.
So instead they gather this class of like impressionable kids and try to just feed their ego and compliment them to make them feel good so they'll keep paying and not realize that actually getting decent is really hard
